Welcome to the Penguin Plunge!

The Penguin Plunge is a charitable Event held in Atlantic Beach, NC, where we gather on January 1st each year and jump into the ocean to support local charities. We are a non-profit dedicated to raising and collecting donations through this event for Carteret County charities!

Post Event Shirt Donations

New this year, we are Accepting for a LIMITED time, a Post Event Shirt Donation. These donations will be accepted until Sunday, January 12th at 9:00 pm and include a 2025 Penguin Plunge Event Shirt of your choice.

The Event Shirts will be available approximately 2 weeks after the January 12 cut-off. They can be shipped (fee) or picked-up by appointment only. We will contact you when your event shirt is available to ship or be picked-up.

This Year's Charities

For the 1/1/2025 event the Penguin Plunge charities are Misplaced Mutts and the Title Wave Book Mobile.

Misplaced Mutts

Misplaced Mutts is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization, dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats in shelters, and in less than ideal home situations, throughout North Carolina. We are based out of Carteret County, North Carolina, and operate through a network of foster homes.

Title Wave Book Mobile

The Title Wave is a non-profit book mobile that serves students in Carteret County, North Carolina. Students in grades pre-k-12 are invited to come on the bus at any location and pick out 2 books to take home and read. Students are welcome to keep the books to build up their at-home library. If students would like to return their books, they are welcome to do so.

As a Sponsor, businesses are recognized for their community support and are offered increased brand recognition. Company logos are posted on the event website, social media outlets, and printed on event tee shirts and sweatshirts. There are several ‘Penguin’ levels of sponsorships. Each donation level has increasing benefits. Deadline for logos to be printed on shirts is December 1st!
